Piece by piece, the Halftime Youth Sports Network (HYSN) prepares to launch.
In 2010, we started Wisemen Multimedia LLC with one idea in mind–build a better TV. And, we did. We created Wisecast TV, an IP digital broadcasting system that spanned the globe. Wisecast TV was a multi-channel network with music channels, Cloud-based DVR recording, pay-per-view, and on-demand.
Four years ago when we decided to expand our technological reach, we imagined several real-world applications for the patented technology we created. The Halftime Youth Sports Network (HYSN) is one of the applications we imagined and are now bringing to fruition.
The sports center desk is almost assembled. by this time next week, the chairs will be in place and we will have started interviewing candidates to be sportscasters and journalists. As we continue to blaze this new trail, I have been thinking about a gentleman named Charles and his prophetic recommendation. Charles facilitated Agile/DevOps training for our team, and out of all the valuable information he shared with us about sprints and Kanban boards, the thing that stuck with me most is when he urged us to, “Stop starting, and start finishing.” It’s such a simple mantra, but it resonated with me and it sticks with me to this day.
Those of who dare to dream are many times chock full of dreams. I rarely enjoy a peaceful nights rest because my mind won’t stop racing. Fortunately, I have an amazing team. They spend hours plucking my brain and tirelessly working to make these ideas come to life. As we embark on this amazing journey together, I see my role as one who should guide our team towards success, similar to how Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to many victories. So, in the spirit of Michael Jordan, I will share one of the most important lessons I learned from him with my team, and I pray that they will find it useful as they work to change the world for the better.
“The key to success is failure. I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career,” Jordan said. “I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times, I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed”

HYSN.tv is a public private partnership with the Homeland Security Foundation of America (https://www.hsfamerica.org). This project is a viable means of us leveraging technology to connect like-minded people from around the globe for a common goal of goodness. Though this is an important mission, it is more important for us all to remember that it is okay to fail. Each failure gets us closer to victory, but we cannot get close unless we first dare to finish. So, “Stop starting, and start finishing.” Let’s get those failures under our belts, so we can share our victories with the world.
Thank you for taking this journey with me team. There can never be too much good in the world. Let’s add more together. I love you guys. Let’s do this!
